Just landed Banff World Media Festival to this amazing news from New Metric Media. Thrilled to be continuing to work with Sasha Leigh Henry who is a brilliant talent and also an absolute joy to work with!As you can imagine with a talent like Sasha, it was a competitive bid so I want to thank Sasha for entrusting us with her future creative endeavours. As always, Sasha says it best in regards to our new and expanded partnership via a multi year first look, “If Bria Mack Gets A Life was just the beginning, I can only imagine what comes next.”Great job to Bill Lundy (SVP comedy at New Metric and Ilana Miller (Jennifer Hollyer Agency and represents Sasha) for negotiating this innovative and comprehensive deal across television, film and theater. We did it! The Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer 2024 was a smash! Team New Metric Media with Jeff Hersh Steve Cheung Lory Mpiana Eugene Keenan and my Dad, Tony Montefiore (who by the way was honoured with eldest rider this year at 84 years old!!) we raised, with the help of all of our incredibly generous donors, over $26k and counting and together we rode almost 1,000kms! Princess Magaret hospital is a world class organization leading the way in cancer research. Shout out to the organizers, volunteers and police that kept the roads safe and organized and to the hundreds of people along the way cheering from the sidelines. Extra Shout out to Lory Mpiana for riding almost 300k on her own!Now, off to relax by flying to Banff World Media Festival !!Ps: 4 years ago when my Dad started cycling he told me one day he wanted to ride his bike from Niagara to Toronto! Mission accomplished!

Hi folks, when I set out to do the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer in honour of all the friends and family who have touched by cancer i never thought in a million years I would raise more than the minimum $2,500 goal. But the outpouring of support for myself and our team (including my Dad, Jeff Hersh, Steve Cheung and Lory Mpiana has gotten us just $1,200 away from $25,000!!!The ride is this coming weekend and I know, with your help of course, we can reach this new goal of $25k! Incredible week celebrating the best of Canadian content this week at the Canadian Screen Awards. New Metric Media was blessed to have all four of our comedies take home some hardware including some big ones:Bria Mack Gets A Life: Season 1 Winner of Best Comedy Series 2024!! It beat out our hit series Letterkenny and that says ALOT!(Team photo below). Letterkenny wins for Best Ensemble, Comedy! Children Ruin Everything: winner of Best Lead Performer: Meaghan Rath; Best Supporting Role: Ennis Esmer; Best Writing, Kurt SmeatonShoresy: Winner Best Stunts, Dan Skene, Sean Skene and Cam Fergus. Making TV in Canada is no easy feat but it’s made all the more fun when you’re working with amazing collaborators. Shout out to all the incredible winners and nominees, it was a tremendous year for Canadian comedy, to all the various networks and channels that support us (Crave, The CW Network, CTV News, Hulu) and most importantly the to unsung heroes at New Metric Media and the crews that work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring these hilarious shows to life.

Had a wonderful time at the Canadian Film Centre gala with great people while honouring the late Norman Jewison and his incredible legacy of nurturing Canadian talent through the CFC. I’m a proud alumni of the program and have met so many amazing artists and champions along the way. Bonus: Thrilled to have won 4L of Norman’s famous maple syrup in the charity auction. It will fit nicely with our 100s of litres of Quebec maple syrup!Support the CFC wherever and however you can. Off to make crepes!

Excited to get my hands on this newly released state of the Canadian media industry, Canada vs California written by Howard Law. Love that so many greatly respected veterans have lended their voice and perspective including Mike Cosentino Brad Danks Reynolds Mastin Kevin Goldstein Bill Brioux and more. can’t wait to dig into it!It’s a critical time in our industry and there has been much debate over the past few years over Bill C-11 (formerly Bill C-10) and Bill C-18. Regulation is critical to a thriving cultural and commercial industry. Full stop. Let’s get it right and get it done so we can all move on from playing defense and move toward turning on the jets to growing our industry.
